There are approximately 6,000 people between the ages of 20-35 in Superior, about 12 percent of the population. Of these people, approximately half are employed in Superior. SYP believes the future economy of Superior is dependent on retaining and developing these young professionals to be engaged citizens. SYP believes that the community is void of a current organization that provides the services to be fulfilled in the SYP mission. Through networking and education, SYP will bring together a community of professionals that will work to benefit the community as a whole and take on future economic challenges specific to this region. SYP will provide a platform for individuals, including those new to the community, to be involved in community engagement. It will provide targeted professional development opportunities to foster individual and organizational growth. SYP will help make meaningful connections and lasting relationships for young leaders in our community.
Future challenges will include membership retention, membership recruitment and sustained corporate sponsorships. However efforts to address these challenges are well underway and continue to be a focus of the SYP board. Local leadership has taken great interest in the ongoing support of this organization.
Through ongoing interaction and communication, SYP will evolve as an organization that adapts to the needs of young professionals in the community.
